April Showers, May Flowers. What is it about the month of April. In memory of a loved one, our poet for today is Barbara Force.
GOOD-BY
Written by Barbara Force
I didn’t want you to leave
You didn’t want to go.
But lymphoma became leukemia
And so, the end of the show.
My lungs could find no air
The tears streamed down my face.
Courageously and gracefully Dan left us
No one can take your place.
Powerful, important words!
What a wonderful tribute to a wonderful man. Sending love to you Barb!
What a beautiful tribute to Dan and your life together. Every word in your poem has meaning and importance. “My lungs could find no air” is so powerful. Barb, you are a brave and lovely woman and I feel so blessed to know you. xo~~Liz
Sad, powerful, and real. The soul overflows with emotion. I love it Barbara.
There is such grace in the tightly chosen words, it is beauty and the love that is beauty and the sadness that are good byes. A courageous poem.
